Description:

Client is building a 3D structural model of an SMR reactor vessel, internals and supporting components using ANSYS 2022 R2. This 3D model is used to determine loads on the reactor vessel and reactor internals.

Model Structure

The FEA model is built using shells, beams, brick, spring and hydrodynamic elements to model the structural components and various contacts/boundary conditions. There are interfaces between the vessel and internal components, the vessel, internal components & fluid/water and the vessel system to the building/containment.
