We are seeking a talented and driven National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Manager / Environmental Planner who can bring their expertise and passion to our team. As an Environmental Planner, you will play a crucial role in leading and executing environmental planning projects, ensuring that we adhere to NEPA regulations, and providing invaluable advice on matters of environmental impact. This position offers the perfect blend of challenge and fulfillment, requiring exceptional project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of environmental policies and regulations. The successful applicant will have a regulatory permitting background and will have the skills to provide support to project managers and task lead the regulatory and permitting process for a variety of projects in the Pacific Northwest and other western states for public and commercial clients. The Planner should have experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analyses (Environmental Impact Statements), particularly with federal land management agencies (e.g., Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service). In addition to NEPA experience, the Planner is expected to have experience in preparing and processing county, state, and federal permit applications; conducting studies and resource analysis; and consulting with county, state, and federal governmental bodies and agencies. The Planner will have the ability and experience to support the permitting of complex projects in a dynamic work environment, have strong critical thinking capabilities, and have a flexible approach to problem solving. Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, and organizational skills are required. Must have demonstrated writing abilities, competency with basic business computer applications (I.e., Microsoft Office), and possess the ability to act independently. This position requires a team-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail, and a proven commitment to quality management and client satisfaction. The Planner should also have excellent communication skills as the position requires frequent and effective interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, other team members and the public. Requirements: Bachelor's or higher degree in environmental science, urban/regional planning, environmental policy, environmental studies or related field. Have a minimum of 8 years' experience with NEPA assessments and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance/permitting in the U.S. Advanced degrees may be used to fulfil part of this experience requirement. Have excellent research, analytical, writing, oral communication and organizational skills. Have the ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and work closely with team members located across other offices. Have strong task management skills in successfully scoping and managing project teams and deliverables. Attention to detail, ability to work independently, willingness to work as part of team, and the ability to stay positive and effective during long days in the field are critical.
