Robert Half Property Accountant in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description We are providing an opportunity to join our team as a Property Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role centers on various responsibilities associated with property management accounting, both for our managed portfolio and third-party managed portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of property budgets, including common area maintenance charges to tenants.

• Conduct annual CAM reconciliations.

• Handle Accounts Receivable duties, including following up with tenants regarding payments.

• Oversee Accounts Payable responsibilities such as routing, coding, and approval of invoices.

• Manage lease activities, including rent increases and lease expirations.

• Carry out sales tax reporting, where applicable.

• Produce regular financial reports on a monthly and annual basis.

• Calculate management fees, payments, and deposits.

• Record investor distributions, monthly accruals, and loan payments.

• Assist with annual tax return preparation.

• Review monthly financial reports received from third-party managers, highlighting any issues or areas of concern to senior management.

• Serve as the main point of contact for third-party accounting staff, including onboarding and training of new third-party management teams.

• Record cash distributions received from third-party managed projects.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with Budget Processes and Cash Activity.

• Experience with Yardi and CapEx. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of a Property Accountant

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential

• Knowledge of CapEx is a must

• Experience in using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is highly desirable

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Possess a strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary

• Proficient in managing Cash Activity

• Experience in using Yardi software is highly desirable

• Must have a strong understanding of the Real Estate & Property industry.
