Description

We are in search of an experienced Audit Senior for a non-automotive company located in Detroit, Michigan. This role is integral to the financial operations of our company and requires a professional with a strong understanding of internal audit procedures, financial reporting, and risk management. This position offers an exciting opportunity for career growth and development.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct operational and financial audits for domestic operations and corporate office functional activities, including treasury, risk management, and legal and human resources departments.

• Support the implementation and compliance of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 throughout the organization's operating units.

• Assist in developing and customizing risk-based audit plans for operational and business process areas.

• Identify potential opportunities to improve the operational effectiveness of the company, including profit improvement and cost control.

• Assist management in identifying, distributing, and applying best practices throughout the business units.

• Identify audit exceptions, determine the root causes, and develop practical solutions.

• Ensure compliance of operating units with company policies and procedures, and recommend improvements for controls, process, and operational functions.

• Manage special projects including acquisition due diligence, temporary finance support, and additional projects as needed.

• Provide support to external auditors and assist with preparing materials for Audit Committee meetings.

• Participate in meetings with the company's executive management team.

Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Excel

• Experience in Audit - Financial

• Understanding of risk-based auditing

• Strong analytical abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the auditing field, preferably in the public sector.

• Proficiency in Audit - Financial is required.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with MS Excel is essential.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and report writing skills.

• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is a plus.

• Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.

• High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make objective decisions.

• Must be available to work overtime during peak auditing periods.

• Experience with other auditing software is a plus.

• Familiarity with risk-based auditing.
