Role Profile The Power Watch Engineer will be responsible for the safe, continuous, and efficient operation of high pressure steam boilers and their associated auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities will include supervising the Power Plant wage operating and maintenance personnel, maintain necessary operating and maintenance logs and records, trouble-shoot operating issues quickly and effectively and ensuring compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Supervise operation of boiler feed water pumps and heaters to maintain proper water levels and ensure boiler combustion fans maintain proper boiler draft Manage control systems to operate boilers and maintain the efficient burning of fuel Manage Power Plant Maintenance and Reliability Programs Maintain proper operation of air compressors, water softeners, return water and condensate systems, and other power plant support systems Monitor operating conditions utilizing various gages, analyzers, indicating and recording devices, and operate manual controls and check automatic controls for proper operation to meet plant steam demand Test and add chemicals to the deaerators and boilers, and supervise and operate when needed, the main turbine generator and other steam turbines Ensure work areas are up to plant and state cleanliness standards including general housekeeping Provide support with minor repairs or adjustments to Power Plant equipment with the use of small tools during operational emergencies Update the daily shift log and Operator\'s Log Book for each boiler Direct work of outside contractors performing maintenance/repair work as necessary Perform backup duties for Chief Engineer as needed Qualifications Massachusetts 3rd Class Stationary Engineer\'s License is required Massachusetts 2nd Class Stationary Engineer\'s License strongly preferred Supervisory experience in a Power Generation Facility, as well as Process Control Systems experience preferred Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts and holidays required Ability to contribute effectively as an individual and within a team High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision Eastman Chemical Company is an equal opportunity employer.
