Under general supervision, the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, will have responsibility for FP&A functions for an assigned set of businesses with in the AES US SBU. Key focus areas for this role include monthly business forecasts, budgets/long-term forecasts, monthly management reporting, valuation and other ad hoc analyses. The Analyst will work closely with plant management, operations groups, the sourcing group, local accounting and finance teams.

Job Description

  • Manage relationships and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders including plant management, group leadership, hub finance teams, local and regional FP&A.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations through presentations, reports and discourse to plant management and finance leadership.

  • Analyze business operating results and work with the business contacts to develop appropriate commentary for different audiences – identify key trends and explanations for variances in actual or forecasted performance.

  • Forecast business results monthly, working closely with management to identify key inputs to the process.

  • Analyze and communicate financial results that to support the understanding of operating results and trends, including standard monthly reporting to senior leadership.

  • Prepare the annual budgets and long-term forecasts for businesses, working closely with management to identify key inputs to the process.


  • BS in Accounting/Finance

  • Two to Four years of consulting experience is preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects

  • Be proactive in solving problems and developing creative solutions, able to work on multiple priorities and demonstrate flexibility as priorities change, able to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
