Responsible for designing computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems. Creates, tests, and evaluates networks.

  • Strict adherence to safety and other AES company policies

  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical network frameworks and solutions to include cloud and other external partners

  • Design, test, and inspect data communications systems

  • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning

  • Develop technology roadmaps and present to IT and business leaders and other associates

  • Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects

  • Monitor network technology vendors and their adherence organizational network architectural and security standards

  • Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures and trends are currently impacting and driving competitors

  • Write functional requirements/specifications documents

  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems

  • Upgrade network hardware and software components as required

  • Build and maintain network architectural diagrams and other related documentation

  • Work with data security team and other support teams to build and maintain network security policies and practices

Experience and educational requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field

  • Minimum 10 years of experience maintaining and designing large corporate networks

  • Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of protocols across common protocol stacks

  • Demonstrated knowledge of network security tends technologies and architectures

  • Proficient with Cisco network equipment and technologies

  • Proficient with other vendor network equipment and technologies such as F5 load balancers, Infoblox and SDWAN technologies

  • Experience working with a wide variety of public carriers and their technologies
