Install, configure, and support internal and external networks and associated equipment. Designs, develops and maintains all networking systems, associated applications, security, and network configurations. Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan. Recommends and implements upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment. Configures and maintains a wide variety of network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies to the enterprise. Monitors network performance, ensures capacity planning is performed, and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvements. May provide technical support and guidance to users. May lead and direct the work of others.


  • Strict adherence to safety and other AES company policies

  • Performs all duties and job functions as assigned by Network Team Manager

  • Support all global network T3 activities and VOIP Phone system support

  • Maintain and update wireless LAN equipment

  • Maintain and update the LAN equipment

  • Monitor network performance and work with carriers during outages as required

  • Ensure adherence to network security architectures and policies

  • Update equipment documentation as needed

  • Maintain all Switches/Routers and Firewalls

  • Maintain and support VoIP telephone systems

  • Ensures the security and integrity of data, data systems, and data networks across the businesses

  • Proactively review and implement network designs per Internal network architectural practices

  • Proactively monitors the backbone equipment health regarding high utilization, errors logs, recurring incidents, etc

  • Analyze automated tools to make sure they provide reliable information about network KPI’s

  • Maintain routing plans and protocols

  • Maintain network Quality of Service

  • Interface with the monitoring teams

  • Maintain network and Application Load balancer (F5-Networks, GTM & LTM)

  • Maintain DNS environments

  • Evaluate and Perform system software upgrades as recommended by the system manufacturers

  • Interface with regional and local network staff to address the company needs and make sure the G-WAN standards are being maintained

  • Help the application team in troubleshooting to minimize the systems outage time.


  • Associate Degree in computer network communications or related field. Bachelor degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining and administering medium and/or large scale networks

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Cisco network equipment including PIX/ASA via command line administration

  • Experience administering Cisco Call Manager

  • Local Area Network design and configuration experience

  • Solid understanding of IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)

  • Experience working with wireless and wired 802.1x implementations

  • Proficient in Cisco Command Line Interface

  • Able to interpret routing tables and troubleshoot interface status

  • Able to configure and troubleshoot QoS on router and switches

  • Able to interpret architectural designs / understand how the hardware fits into the overall network design

  • Experience troubleshooting complex network access and routing incidents

  • Experience interfacing with network carriers and implementing a variety of network carrier based circuits

  • Demonstrated experience with F5 load balancers

  • Demonstrated experience with Infoblox DNS environments
