Summary:

The Project Finance Senior Analyst will provide financial and debt compliance support to The AES Corporation and US Generation projects. This includes monitoring corporate and project liquidity as well as performing debt compliance processes associated with corporate and non-recourse debt. It also involves interacting with the key stakeholders within the corporation and each project (i.e. lenders / equity partners / rating agencies, etc) to the extent applicable for the corporation and each project. The analyst will also need to support other key functional areas such as accounting, FP&A, legal, tax and treasury operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate submissions of deliverables required by the debt covenants of the corporation and project. Manage the monthly / quarterly/ semi-annual waterfalls associated with each financing of which funds are transferred , disbursed and spent.

  • Ability to run global corporate liquidity model on monthly/quarterly basis supporting internal analysis and provide treasury support for external and internal reporting.

  • Serve as first key contact for key project bondholders, administrative agent, shareholders, tax-equity partners bank lenders, trustees, etc.

  • Update cash flows to foresee any upcoming cash issues, maximize POCF, and to assist in calculating the DSCR.

  • Submission of internal compliance and reporting items such as the Covenant Summary Tool and Treasury Debt Compliance Survey.

  • Support FP&A team by providing actual cash results for the month so FP&A can utilize that information to update their financial model as well as assisting FP&A as needed to optimize the service and information we provide to the businesses.

  • Support accounting teams by providing monthly interest accruals on variable rate debt and swap instruments.

  • Work with treasury operations to build step-plans associated with distributions and management fees leaving the project companies.

  • Lead and support financing transactions opportunities as they arise (i.e. LC financings, bond/bank debt refinancings, etc).

  • Participate as a member of the Business Service Team to ensure timely, efficient and valuable communication/information to the business leaders at each project.

  • Organize and lead presentations to key stakeholders on a recurring basis and as needed for key initiatives, Examples include annual review, budget approvals, presentations as support to consent/amendment process.

  • Serve as a key resource with regard to contract interpretations and how covenants affect key business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and navigate complex credit agreements and legal documents.

  • Ability to interpret complex legal clauses with respect to proposed business actions.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office to support other key functional areas of the organization.

  • Strong analytic & financial modelling skills

  • CTP, CFA preferred.

  • 5 to 7 years relevant experience.

  • Previous experience in a trustee, administrative agent, collateral agent a plus.
