JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20850 INTRODUCTION: The Department of UW Rock County Facilities Planning and Management at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Rock County Campus (Janesville, WI) seeks a Custodian (FP019). JOB DUTIES: This position is responsible for housekeeping duties in assigned areas of UW-Whitewater, Rock County Campus (Janesville, WI) buildings and maintaining these areas in a safe and sanitary condition. This position will report to the Chief Facilities Officer and works under the guidance of a Custodian Lead. This position normally works 3:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. This position is designated at Level 1 for risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens. All established safety rules and regulations must be followed and personal protective equipment must be worn when performing job duties requiring their use. The incumbent will be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills. Based upon operational need for additional custodial coverage at University events, occasional overtime may be required and changes to your schedule may occur, this may include evenings and weekends. RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Routine daily maintenance of academic buildings Clean restrooms, shower, and locker rooms Clean classrooms, whiteboards and trays, erasers, etc. Clean and dust office areas B. Performance of Related Duties Clean and maintain equipment and storage areas Report needed maintenance or repairs to supervisor via work request Move furniture, equipment, supplies, etc. as required. C. Team Participation Function as member of team in special projects (revamping, tarping floors, seasonal cleaning) Function as a team member in problem solving for custodial and other areas Assist other department/employees as required TO ENSURE CONSIDERATION: Applications received by May 28, 2024 are ensured full consideration.
