DESCRIPTION

Union County Board of DD is Hiring a Preschool Assistant Substitute

Under the general supervision of the Preschool Operations Coordinator, the Preschool Instructor Assistant Substitute assists the Preschool Instructor in performing the specialized work of the instruction and training of children identified with developmental disabilities. In addition, the Preschool Instructor Assistant will be working with a peer population to integrate the children with developmental disabilities into the traditional educational environment provided by the county's public school systems. At all times, the Preschool Instructor Assistant must strive to meet the UCBDD published Mission Statement and exemplify the UCBDD defined Core Values.* *

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience --

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Educational Aide Certification from the Ohio Department of Education. 

Other --

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver's License if operating a personal vehicle for official agency business.* *

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assists in the programming as outlined in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) inclusive of:
    1. Performance of necessary non-instructional tasks
    2. Helps students become engaged in planned activities
    3. Assists instructors in the set-up of the educational environment

``` 2. Assists in keeping educational records, attendance records and collecting of monies.

``` 3. Assist the student and UCBDD staff and agents in transportation of the child 1. Loading and unloading the buses used for transporting students.

``` 4. Assists in maintain discipline in the classroom, on school grounds and excursions in the community

``` 5. Assists in the supervision of volunteers, students in training and enrollees in training.

``` 6. Relates program philosophy, procedures and goals to the general public. 1. Regular communications with the family 2. Participates in public relations activities

``` 7. Maintains professional ethics in keeping with the confidential material.

``` 8. Maintains a cooperative relationship with co-workers and families of the children under his/her instruction

``` 9. Others duties as deemed necessary.
