Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, Grade 13 (formerly known as Administrative Aide, Grade 13, or Agency Program Aide, Grade 13). Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will possess strong interpersonal written and verbal skills and excellent organizational skills. They will be proficient in Microsoft -Outlook, Word and Excel, spreadsheets and database programs; have the ability to prepare routine correspondence, develop and maintain tracking systems, and collect and analyze data; and they will be able to prioritize assignments and work independently on numerous tasks simultaneously.

Duties Description The Bureau of Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP) is a federally funded public health nutrition program which provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in other programs. The Program Aide will prepare routine correspondence; collect and analyze data; assist in the preparation, review, and evaluation of a variety of reports and records; provide assistance by conducting preliminary and follow-up work on program reviews; maintain systems to track Program Reviews and Corrective Action Plans; monitor information in databases to maintain consistency, accuracy, and accessibility. The incumbent will also develop and maintain tracking systems as needed and collect and analyze information to be used to develop recommendations and responses to executive level requests. They will assist with coordinating strategic planning, performance improvement, presentations, trainings, and other cross program cutting initiatives.

Additional Comments Contingent permanent, full-time, competitive appointment. Transfer candidates may be asked for their social security number to verify transfer eligibility. Travel to areas not served by public transportation may be required (10%). For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
