Waste Connections has an immediate position available for an ADT Equipment Operator for our Ottawa Landfill District in Navan , ON.

Location : 3354 Navan Road Navan, ON

Pay : $24.60 per hour, Full time with benefits, 44 hours per week

Summary: Operates various equipment including articulated trucks and backhoe. May also include forklifts, loaders and front skid steer loaders.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Operates equipment for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks.

• Operates backhoe and articulated trucks as required.

• Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related assignments.

• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, including routine inspection and maintenance of equipment

• May be required to watch the public drop off pad, litter pick, shovel, mow lawns.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

• Heavy Equipment Operator experience.

Working Conditions And Physical Effort:

• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as; extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
