Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will serve as a Job Readiness Cell Material Handler for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. You will be required to process, handle, store, and issue of materials and equipment within a warehouse/supply facility. You will receive, store, and assemble kits containing a wide variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities. You will log receipt, storage, shipment, delivery and issue data. You will prepare inventory documents with required data for manual (or automated) inventory systems. You will process and independently review storage locations and count material to identify material, insure correctness of quantities, and labeling for inventory purposes. You will use manual or various material handling equipment (e.g. incidental or regular use of forklifts and pallet jacks, rotary storage devices etc.) to move, stack, bin, and position materials and equipment for issue, delivery and distribution. You will be required to organize, arrange, and remove stock in storage areas in accordance with established procedures to prevent damage, deterioration, and loss. Work is usually performed indoors in a well-lighted and ventilated production shop area. May be exposed for short periods to outdoor conditions. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, fumes, and vibrations. Regularly handles weights up to (40 pounds) unassisted, with carries up to (25 feet). Occasionally handles weights up to (60 pounds). Material handling devices and assistance of other workers are available for handling especially heavy items. Heavy exertion is frequent. Constant kneeling, crouching, stooping, and walking is required. Forklift license is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment in this position. Valid driving license is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment in this position.
