Description:

• Will be responsible for purchasing machined components and welding from requisitions, bills of material, notices of corrections

• Identify and qualify sources of supply capable of fulfilling the obligations required on the purchase order.

• Act on assigned projects to solve problems quickly and maintain the delivery schedule, whether vendor error or Ingersoll caused.

• Supervise the project to coordinate all functions including, but not limited to, shipping and receiving of parts, quality assurance, vendor processing, engineering changes, and final acceptance.

• Advice management on activities related to the order.

• Write a request for a quote, letter of specifications, bid tabulation, letter of recommendation request approval, and write a purchase order. Supply engineering drawings, specifications, and monitor vendors.

• Negotiates prices, deliveries, and payment terms

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS degree highly preferred

• 5+ years of purchasing in a manufacturing environment

• Must be able to read blue prints

• Strong negotiation skills

• Experience purchasing parts for machining as well as seals, bearings, and hydraulic parts strongly preferred
