Lyft Financial Analyst, Lyft Media in San Francisco, California

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is an integral part of the decision-making process at Lyft, embedded within the business to ensure we maximize ROI and drive to the best possible P&L outcomes. Lyft’s FP&A team is looking for a strong Financial Analyst to join our Rideshare team, specifically supporting Media.

The Rideshare team supports all things related to servicing rides through the Lyft platform. The ideal candidate should have solid analytical, communication, and time management skills, as well as being team-oriented and employing a strong work ethic. This role will work cross-functionally across FP&A and the business to develop and manage forecasts and financial analytics with a focus on enhancing financial visibility and insights into the business. Responsibilities:

  • Directly support Lyft Media by partnering with Strategy & Operations, Product, Sales, and Data Science to optimize financial outcomes and drive transparency/accountability on results

  • Lead in-depth financial analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI evaluations to support decision-making processes and provide insights to business leaders

  • Develop sustainable financial data management/sourcing practices to enable our team and business partners to move fast

  • Prepare and own periodic financial business reviews, highlighting key areas of focus

  • Own the monthly & quarter-end close process end-to-end for Media, flagging any potential issues/risks through timely variance analysis

  • Maintain a deep understanding of our financial processes and refine/standardize them across broader FP&A organization to scale with the growth of the company

Experience:

  • BA/BS with 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analytics in a fast-moving environment or related work experience

  • Forward-thinking, analytical and problem-solving mindset, drawn to “making it happen”

  • Expert in Excel/Google Sheets, experience building complex formulas and manipulating large data sets

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision

  • Detail oriented and highly organized self starter with a drive to dig into complex problems

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate proactively and influence effectively across various departments

  • A drive to understand the core issues along with determination to uncover the solution

  • Experience with Anaplan, Oracle, Tableau, and Mode Analytics is a bonus (not required)

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $94,000 - $117,500. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
