Job Title: Data Scientist

Location: Rieti

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES:

The Data Scientist will be part of the local Manufacturing Science (MS) department of Takeda Rieti and will be reporting to the Investigation & data science lead. The position is based in Rieti.

  • Manages and drives local digital data science initiatives according to prioritization (e.g. Yield Improvement, real-time monitoring, predictive process performance etc.).

  • Expand and unlock new knowledge for effective process monitoring and process improvement optimizations (e.g. descriptive statistics and visualization, statistical process control, out-of-the-box-tools).

  • Foster the adoption and development of automated pipeline for real-time data retrieval and analysis. Gathers and identifies local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local team, DD&T, Engineering, Quality and global GMS data science.

  • Partnership with local functions, DD&T, Engineering, Quality and provides the link between local and global data science team.

  • Manage and execute reporting activities, especially the ones related to the deployment of Power BI dashboards for Yield and Process monitoring

  • Supports and participates in global/functional/local GMS data science community

  • Drives necessary local trainings.

  • Translate business problems into opportunities and effectively communicate findings with stakeholders.

  • Assure the continuous improvement of digital data repositories

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Good Mathematical and Statistical Knowledge

  • Proven experience in manipulating large datasets and development/implementation of Machine Learning /Deep Learning algorithms and main frameworks.

  • Respective coding skills es in Python/R (essential)

  • Proficiency in database languages (SQL), understanding of data models and databases

  • Experience with time series data analysis preferred

  • Familiar with Cloud computing

  • Proven knowledge of BI tools such (Power BI, Qlik, etc…)

  • Strategic enterprise thinking, finding innovative ways to serve patients build reputation and trust.

  • Extensive capabilities to translate business needs into data analytics concepts and the other way

  • Project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as influencing skills.

  • Act as a driver to raise awareness and shift the paradigm actively contributing to the digital transformation.

  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Master/MBA and/or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or other scientific disciplines

  • Proven experience (3+ year-experience) in data analysis related position or equivalent academic experience/course record.

  • Hands-on experience in applying and executing Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Big Data and Digital with respective programming knowledge

  • Fluent written and spoken English mandatory

  • Contribution to GitHub repositories and stack overflow and participations in competitions, e.g. on kaggle, data challenges, hackathons are advantageous
