Financial Analyst salary range: $4,807.82 - $5,857.84 per month

Financial Analyst: This position performs fiscally related duties in support of department accounting, cashiering, purchasing, and payroll. The work involves data input for the maintenance of records, examination, and verification of various fiscal documents. This position is required to assist in the preparation and interpretation of financial reports produced by automated and manual accounting systems.

*Financial Analyst Senior: *Leads subordinates in fiscal procedures. Trains and develops subordinates in financial matters and procedures. Positions allocated to this class assist in the management and operation of a divisional fiscal unit. Positions are assigned responsibility for fiscal assessment and analysis of program decisions and participate in the development and modification of program requirements.

Employees in this classification will be required to perform portions or all of the duties normally falling under positions within or below this classification other than the one to which they are originally assigned. Such supplementary duties may be assigned for the purpose of project expediency and as a means of broadening the experience of the employee. Assignments of this nature will be dependent on current workload and staffing requirements.

* Examples of Duties:*

*Financial Analyst: *Preparing vouchers for payment of invoices and allocating expenses to the proper accounts in accordance with the Activity Based Cost System and the State of Washington Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting numbering system (BARS).

Maintains inventory control of materials from time sheets according to inventory control number and quantity used. Posts incoming supplies and materials to correct inventory account number

Coding time sheets with appropriate BARS and Activity Based Cost System numbering.

Compile information and process Inter-Departmental billing for vehicle and material usage, phones, computer rental and copier charges.

Operate a telephone station, computer, postage meter, fax machine and other office machines, as needed.

Assist employees and the public in researching record information and provide copies as requested.

Financial Analyst Senior: Responsible for complete accounting cycle of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash control for one or more Funds. Prepare, audit, examine, verify, and process final documents such as vouchers, purchase requests, invoices, receipts, time reports, payroll/personnel related documents, and cash accountability and control forms.

Positions allocated to this class assigned responsibility for maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledgers for Public Works funds and monthly financial tracking and management reports.

Trains and develops professional subordinates in financial matters and procedures.

Participates in the development and modification of the Activity Based Costing program requirements.

Interprets fiscal policies and procedures; monitors and reviews completed work for accuracy; investigates discrepancies; corrects errors; ensures compliance with procedures, policies and union contracts.
