Copeland Technologist, Refrigerants & Systems in Sidney, Ohio

This position is responsible for providing direction to the organization around refrigerants and systems technologies. You will work alongside a strong and dedicated cross-functional team at our Sidney and Dayton, OH locations looking to collaborate on opportunities that drive new value for Copeland.

AS TECHNOLOGIST – REFRIGERANTS & SYSTEMS, YOU WILL:

  • Identify patterns across the industry that create strategic problems to solve

  • Proactively collaborate with other Copeland development teams and functions across the organization

  • Network with Industry Leaders to understand the latest trends, offerings and insights

  • Translate industry trends / government committees / regulations into opportunities

WHO YOU ARE:

You find and champion solutions for the benefit of the organization. You are transformational and able to articulately paint credible visions of possibility and potential. You facilitate a rich, open dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Engineering Master’s degree plus a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant HVACR systems experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven leadership skills in research and/or product development environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to apply creative thinking (including Design Thinking or Lean) to new problems

  • Passionate Learner across a variety of disciplines

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work with both internal and external resources

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellence at developing strong collaborative relationships

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of your time

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Experience and Understanding of Refrigerants that impact the HVACR industry

  • Active within industry organizations such as AHRI, ASHRAE, etc

  • Experience or exposure to “not in kind” HVACR technology

FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE - REMOTE WORK OPTION AND CORE HOURS:

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and efficiency as we serve the needs of our customers.
