Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Science & Technology (Digital and Analytical Solutions) team as a Laboratory Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), execute and support various analytical initiatives. The Laboratory Coordinator will also play a crucial role in maintaining inventory, managing equipment, and implementing new digital and analytical solutions within the analytical units.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the analytical labs, and chemical storage units, in collaboration with area users, Safety, Quality, and other stakeholders.

  2. Create training modules on the defined ways of working (WOW) and ensure new employees review them upon joining Nestle, while established employees review them annually.

  3. Coordinate equipment calibrations, ordering of consumables, and cross-center audits. Develop SOPs with a RACI matrix, as necessary.

  4. Monitor and maintain inventory of chemicals, materials, and analytical equipment. Facilitate proper disposition of assets by establishing connections with local universities.

  5. Create SOPs for analytical methods for specific analytical equipment, incorporating input from method reviewers.

  6. Execute analytical testing (such as gas chromatography/olfactometry, liquid chromatography, dough rheology, sauce emulsification, tribology, and texture profile analysis) and interpret analytical results by following validated procedures within agreed timelines.

  7. Ensure laboratory safety and housekeeping activities are implemented and maintained to the highest standards.

  8. Support the implementation of digital initiatives relevant to analytical units

  9. Maintain the S&T Analytical Solutions SharePoint and other repositories to ensure audit-readiness.

  10. Champion scouting of new analytical methodologies to elevate our analytical competencies in the field of physical characterization for Frozen & Chilled products, while maintaining the strong competence in flavor research.

  11. Act as a SPOC for analysis of Frozen & Chilled Foods for different Nestlé R&D centers and NQAC labs.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in a scientific discipline, preferably in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field with minimum 5 years of experience. Ph.D. is a plus.

  2. Proven experience in laboratory management or coordination, preferably in a scientific or research environment.

  3. Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, including SOP development, equipment calibration, and inventory management.

  4. Dexterity with analytical methods and equipment commonly used in food science or related fields. Proven experience in running and troubleshooting GC-MS is required.

  5. Experience in flavor analysis such as GC-MS/O.

  6. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SharePoint or other document management systems.

  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  10. Knowledge of digital solutions and their implementation in laboratory settings is desirable.

  11. Experience in building strong collaboration and partnerships external/internal
